My name is Allison and I believe in providing a compassionate and supportive environment in which people can address their concerns in counseling. I try to meet all of my clients where they are at, and believe in utilizing humor and honesty to make counseling a collaborative process. I value being genuine, and work to break down clinical terms and skills into everyday language that is easy to understand and practice. I am currently accepting new clients, offering sliding scale based on income, and I will soon be able to accept most commercial/private insurances. Clients that see me typically want to work on things like anxiety and mood disorders, depression, self-esteem, and challenges with substances. I utilize a variety of evidenced based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in an integrative approach to address each client’s specific needs.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed in both Illinois and Missouri. I grew up in the metro-east area and have worked in many different areas of mental health services. I received my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and my Master’s degree in Adult Clinical Psychology from SIUE. Prior to working at this practice, I have over 10 years’ experience working in a variety of treatment settings, helping adults with diverse backgrounds with a variety of concerns, and look forward to the opportunity to help you in your journey.
